People are being urged to take advantage of National Voter Registration Day and join the electoral roll.
North Herts District Council is encouraging anyone who has not already done so to register online so they can vote in the general election, which will be held on Thursday, May 7.
David Scholes, the returning officer for the district council, said: βIt is important to be able to have your say and exercise your right to vote in the national and local elections and National Voter Registration Day highlights to those not yet registered to vote to do so. With this looking to be an interesting general election this year and an important event for North Herts with the election of 16 councillors, we encourage residents to make sure they are registered in advance of the elections so that they can vote.β
