A team building business set up by a Shepreth Paralympian has trained up Great Northern staff to teach them how to best help visually impaired people travelling on their service.
Team Insight, founded by Georgie Bullen – GB Goalball Paralympian – is used to develop trust among groups as they work together to tackle issues surrounding sight loss.
During the training, Great Northern’s employees tried on simulation spectacles and used a white cane.
The various exercises helped build stronger working relationships and participants gained valuable visual impairment awareness for which they were awarded a certificate – approved by the Royal National Institute of Blind People.
Georgie said: “This training has hopefully given the Great Northern team the confidence to put both them and the traveller at ease when assisting them.”
