THE winners of this year's Royston in Bloom competition received their awards on Thursday - just a day after Royston had claimed a silver award in the Anglia in Bloom contest.

The awards came in this year's competition which covered catergories such as best container garden and best front garden to a young persons project.
The evening also saw Cllr Lill award certificates to the winners of the Royston Greenfingers Gardening Club's third sunflower competition.
More than 800 seeds - provided by sponsors Country Homes and Gardens - were distributed to schools.
The height of this year's plants was less than previously because too much rain produced a "plague" of snails and slugs.
The tallest plant was grown by Kaitlin Saward, of Studlands Rise School. Her sunflower reached 11ft 11in.
Kaitlin was third in the competition two years ago and second last year.
In second place was Daniel Turner, of Studlands Rise School with a plant of 9ft 51/2in, and third was Sophie Bateman, of Icknield Walk School, was third with a sunflower of 9ft 1in.
Alan Restall, chairman of Royston Greenfingers, judged the competition.
