SCARECROWS invaded Orwell at the weekend to mark the St Andrew's Church open gardens weekend.

Residents put up a number of scarecrows in their gardens before the weekend.

Visitors had the opportunity to try their hand at bell-ringing while youngsters parachuted teddy bears from the top of the church and took part in a treasure trail around the village.

Internationally-acclaimed organist Carlo Curley was also in Orwell on Saturday to give a concert at the Orwell Methodist Church.
