A family fun day held on Saturday in memory of a one-year-old girl from Royston who died of leukaemia raised over £3,000.

Mia Samuels died four years ago, and her parents, Ben and Nicola, organised the day, which took place at The Heath sports club on Therfield Heath, to raise money for research into the disease.

The day featured traditional village fete activities including bouncy castles, tug of war games and even some sumo wrestling.

A total of £3,144 was raised, and all funds will be donated to Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research, which is dedicated to research and dedicated to improving the lives of people suffering from blood cancer.
