ALMOST 1,000 people turned out on Sunday to take part in this year's Pink Ribbon Run/Walk.
Organisers were hoping to raise more than £40,000 for Cancer Research UK.
In the past three years the event on Therfield Heath has raised more than £60,000.
Sarah Williamson, from Cancer Research UK, said: "It was amazing to see so many people taking part."
She said that such events attracted so many people because most had in some way been touched by cancer.
"It just shows that there are many people willing to give support to such a charity," she said.
