The team at a Royston funeral directors were thrilled to have collected an abundance of Easter eggs for the town’s branch of a family support charity.

Staff at Cecil Newling Funeral Directors in Market Hill put out a plea asking members of the public to buy an extra chocolate egg to be donated to Royston and South Cambs’ Home-Start.

Funeral arranger Jessica Geer said: “Our Easter egg appeal has now ended and eggs were given so generously by people in Royston and the surrounding areas.”

Home-Start – which started in the Health Centre in Royston in 1983 – offers a home-support service to families, who have at least one child under the age of 11. Tracy Aggett from the charity went along to collect the donations which will be given to children who may not have received an Easter egg otherwise.
