IT was hair today, gone tomorrow for a fundraiser who shaved off the beard he has been growing for 30 years.

Kim Riley, caretaker at Kings House sheltered housing scheme in Royston, shaved the facial hair he has sported since 1980 to raise funds for Children in Need.

Residents of Kings House watched on as hairdresser Mo Lawton did the deed yesterday (Wednesday).

Sponsorship money is still coming in, but Mr Riley has already raised just under 400 for the BBC charity.
