Icknield Walk First School in Royston invited some parents, who work as scientists, into school for the day to explain what goes on in their laboratories and offices.
A spokesman for Icknield Walk explained: “All the children received a ‘passport’ to fill in as they tried out different activities.
“The activities included checking for acidity, investigating blind spots, water and soap powered boats, how suncream works and making a measle germ pencil. The year three pupils also got to dress up as scientists.
“All the children and staff had a great time trying things out, and the children really enjoyed the hands-on experiences.”
