The Royston women's team also won by one point in an event which has now become an annual challenge between members of the twin-towns.
During the visit, there was a civic reception at Royston Town Hall.
The La Loupe party presented Royston with a box of French books, some of which are used as teaching aids in France. The books will be presented to the Royston library.
