Members of the Royston Town Twinning Association have a 5-2 lead in the game of boule over the French twin-town of La Loupe.

But the recent visit from La Loupe saw Royston win by just one point.

The Royston women's team also won by one point in an event which has now become an annual challenge between members of the twin-towns.

During the visit, there was a civic reception at Royston Town Hall.

The La Loupe party presented Royston with a box of French books, some of which are used as teaching aids in France. The books will be presented to the Royston library.

The weekend included a visit to Bury St Edmunds Cathedral and the Anglo-Saxon village of West Stow.
