Over 65s in Royston are invited to a free showing of a classic film thanks to Royston Town Council’s Silver Sunday initiative.

Silver Sunday is a national celebration of the older community, and once again the town council is keen to get as many residents involved as possible.

Free tickets are available from Monday next week for this year’s offering – Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, starring Marilyn Monroe – and you can get yours from the Royston Town Hall offices in Melbourn Street until September 27.

If you need transport organised to attend with a carer, that can also be organised – thanks to the generosity of Royston & District Community Transport. This must also be booked by September 27.

The film at the Royston Picture Palace is on Sunday, October 7, at 3.30pm – doors will be open from 2.30pm. Free tea and cakes will be served beforehand, and you must be a Royston resident to attend.
