Staff at a Therfield pub are showing their support for charity with the hungriest of eating contests.

On Saturday, August 11, The Fox and Duck pub – run by manager Ivan Titmuss – will host a day of feasting fun as everyone is invited to try their hand at the ‘Foxy Burger’ challenge, while raising money for two important charities.

The event is in aid of Meldreth mum-of-two Lysa Kemp and the Rooprai Spinal Trust. Lysa is fundraising for life-prolonging cancer treatment, while Marrianne Rooprai and Andy Uttridge of RST, hope to raise money and awareness for those suffering from spinal injuries.

With burgers seven times the regular size, competitors will pay £20 to chow down on the 4lb ‘foxy’ edition as fast as they can for their chance to win a £100 voucher at the Therfield watering hole.

For those not up to the challenge, there will be mini burgers and a bouncy castle on the green throughout the day.
