A tree fire was “deliberately started” in Fowlmere at the weekend, Cambs Fire and Rescue Service have now said.
At about 10.45pm on Saturday one crew from Cambridge was called to the blaze in Long Lane.
A spokesman said: “The crew arrived to find a large tree on fire. Firefighters used one hose reel and small gear to extinguish the fire, before returning to their station by 12.30am.
“The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate. Anyone with information should contact police by visiting www.cambs.police.uk to submit an online report or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
