THE chairman of Royston in Bloom has unveiled a new flower bed to help brighten up the town - and hopes residents will follow the example.
The dry bed which features yucca plants and lavender, has been put together outside Royston Health Centre in Melbourn Street, in conjunction with the Royston and South Cambridgeshire branch of Home-Start.
Bloom chairman Angela Louch, who is also involved with Home-Start, believes the new bed has brightened up the area.
She said before the transformation the area was littered and untidy.
"This is one of the most used parts of town and it had begun to look grotty.
"I wanted to make the place look nice and bright, and I certainly think the flower bed has done that," she said.
