A PLAN to develop a site which has been left empty for almost two years has been given the support of Royston Town Council's planning committee.
The scheme at 4 Kneesworth Street includes the building of two flats and conversion of remaining buildings into accommodation.
Cllr Rod Kennedy told members of the committee on Monday evening: "The site needs to be developed."
The committee suggested, however, that raising bollards may have to be included in the scheme to prevent parking on the site.
# Plans to erect new changing rooms and toilets at the Heath Sport Centre look set to be given the go-ahead.
The scheme has been submitted by Royston Rugby Club after it received a grant from the Rugby Football Union.
The town council's planning committee supported the scheme.
