An ambulance responding to an emergency call was involved in a collision with a car in Melbourn, resulting in minor injuries for five people.

Police have confirmed today that officers were called to reports of a collision involving a car and an ambulance in Medcalfe Way at about 3pm on Sunday, January 22.

An ambulance service spokesman told the Crow this morning: “The ambulance was on blue lights and responding to a 999 patient in Melbourn. A rapid response vehicle was already on scene with the patient and another ambulance supported it minutes later minimising the wait for everyone involved.

“Two ambulance crews and an ambulance officer and the Hazardous Area Response Team were dispatched to the collision to assist our crew and those involved. Both crew members sustained minor injuries, as did three people in the other vehicle. None required any hospital treatment following this incident.”
