A fire which broke out at the Mantles Kia dealership in Royston on Saturday afternoon is believed to have originated from a gas main.
The blaze started just before 1.30pm on Saturday and five fire engines – one from Royston, two from Baldock and Letchworth, an aerial ladder platform and regular fire engine from Stevenage and a crew from Buntingford – were sent to the scene.
Two sets of breathing apparatus, one hose reel and one covering jet were used in tackling the blaze, which was out by 1.45pm and crews stayed until 2.20pm to damp down. No one was injured.
A spokesman for the fire service said the cause of the fire is believed to have originated from a gas main, and it has been deemed as accidental.
