A sketch of the proposed plans at Fish Hill Square has been released by North Hertfordshire District Council.

As reported in last weeks Crow, the people of Royston have been invited to voice their opinions on the future of the town centre square at a special exhibition held this weekend.

In preparation for the event, the council have provided residents with the aerial image to give a rough idea of how the plans might look.

The square will aim to create a space which retains the character of the square, but with ample room for parking available.

The meeting will allow public members to give opinions on areas such as street furniture and building materials.

Cllr Tom Brindley, the council’s head of planning, said last week that he would like “as many people as possible to come along to the exhibition,” while town centre manager Geraint Burnell urged residents that “now was the time to get voices heard.”

The meeting takes place in John Street car park, Royston, between 11am and 1pm on August 28. The exhibition will continue at Royston library until September 23.
