A FIRM'S first employee who spent all his working life with RK Print Coat Instruments was this week bid a fond farewell by his employers.

Ronald Saunderson, 64, joined RK Print Coat Instruments straight from college and has seen many changes to the business – including location and name changes.

Peter Smith, manager/associate director, said: “It was a close relationship in the beginning and as the firm has got bigger Ronald has been an important employee.

“His timekeeping has been excellent and he has hardly had any time off sick.

“He is a very quiet unassuming type of character and I don’t think we will realise he has been here all this time until he has gone.”

Mr Saunderson, of Great Chishill, will enjoy pursuing his hobby of attending steam tractor engine rallies in his retirement.

Managing director Thomas Kerchiss and all the staff wished Mr Saunderson, who worked in the coil winding department, a very long and happy retirement and thanked him for his commitment and dedication to the company.
