A MEMORIAL service will be held today (Thursday) in honour of two firefighters who died in a blaze in Stevenage. Jeff Wornham, 28, from Sandon, and his colleague Michael Miller, 26, of Stevenage died one year ago while trying to rescue trapped residents from a blaze in a tower block. The service will be held at Stevenage Fire Station, where they were based. It was announced in October by Stevenage Borough Council that streets on a new estate will be named after the firefighters as a tribute.
