Firefighters battled a blaze at a 15-metre high Royston grain silo for three hours yesterday afternoon.
Crews from Royston, Stevenage, Baldock and Letchworth and Buntingford were called to attend the blaze at the drying container in The Joint at about 1.30pm.
A cherry picker and four hose reels were used to tackle the fire, as well as four firefighters with breathing apparatus who entered the silo.
There were no injuries reported at the site, which was made safe at about 4.30pm.
