Hertfordshire’s Fire and Rescue Service has officially welcomed seven retained officers from Royston to the team after the group passed their training.
The recruits were welcomed at a ceremony at Longfield Training Centre, Stevenage on Thursday.
Team members are expected to respond to alerts within four minutes and provide at least 90 hours of cover a week.
Councillor Richard Thake, cabinet member for community safety said: “I would like to congratulate the new recruits. This career offers an exceptional range of opportunities.”
