The pedestrian who died in the Royston fire engine crash yesterday evening has been named by police.
Mitchell Bailey, from Royston, died when a fire engine on an emergency call crashed at the Old North Road roundabout as it was turning into Burns Road at about 8.45pm.
A police spokeswoman has said the 58-year-old’s family have asked for their privacy to be respected at this very difficult time and their thoughts remain with them.
Investigations into the incident are continuing and anyone with information is asked to contact police on the non-emergency number 101.
