FIRE crews were called to Royston’s abandoned swimming pool this morning after smoke was spotted.
Two engines rushed to the derelict Newmarket Road site after being notified at 6.57am and discovered a small fire.
Firefighters from Royston put out the blaze swiftly - using one hose reel, one covering jet and two breathing apparatus.
At 7.20am the fire was out and the stop message came in seven minutes later.
