Jack McKenzie, gets in some practice before last night's (Wednesday) 31st House Music Festival at Freman College in Buntingford. Jack, who represents Butler house, was one of the many students taking part in this year's competition. Indeed, students of all ages from each of the four houses - Butler, Hepworth, Mills and Moore - have been rehearsing since Christmas. They were due to perform in front of two guest adjudicators, Mel Coyle and Ross Purves. Mel is teaches performing arts at Stantonbury Campus in Milton Keynes. Ross, an active performing and recording musician, lectures in music technology at the Institute of Education in London and at Luton Sixth Form College. Freman's head of music, Jane Scott, said: "House music is a great opportunity for the students to experience all the stress and excitement of live performance.
