Father Christmas and Rudolf his trusty reindeer are back in Royston from 10am to 4pm tomorrow.

The duo will be giving out clues to children from a log cabin in Fish Hill Square which will lead them to reindeer in the windows of shops scattered between the High Street, John Street, Angel Pavement and Market Hill.

Once children have claimed all 10 pieces of Lego from the shops, they will assemble a model which they show to Santa in return for a further present.

Royston town manager Geraint Burnell said: “We are repeating the successful formula from last year where more than 150 children took-up our challenge.

“Our hope is that children will remain absorbed in this task sufficiently long for at least one parent to be off around the town centre completing some of those Christmas shopping tasks!

“Royston is particularly well-suited for a nice, relaxed present buying experience. We can offer four independent gift shops, two independent jewellers, three chemists, and at least six outlets either offering or specialising in cards and wrapping paper.”
