Father Christmas and his elves made an appearance for the very first time at this year’s Barley Christmas Market.
The main man was able to make it to the event at the Town House , thanks to the Friends of Barley and Barkway schools, which also provided crafts to entertain the children while they waited to visit Santa.
Alison White said: “There were plenty of stalls to see this year! Some people enjoyed having their caricatures, others selected beautiful handmade baby and toddler clothes from Little Sewn Things. Fused Glass Christmas decorations were very popular.
“There were other fabulous charity stalls, including Save the Children, Barley’s Khandel Light and Heydon’s Wood Green, The Animals Charity.
“Refreshments of homemade soup, bread, cheese and mince pies were enjoyed by visitors and stall holders alike.
Thie market was organised in support of Barley Church, and raised a tidy sum to help keep the church open.
