A motorist, thought to be in his 70s, tragically died this afternoon after a two-car crash on the A505 near Thriplow.
The man was driving a white Audi A1 when it was involved in the crash with a white Vauxhall Insignia at about 12.40pm.
The driver of the Vauxhall suffered serious chest injuries and was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.
The road is still closed in both directions between the M11 and the A10 roundabout, and is expected to reopen within the hour. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and expect delays.
Anyone who witnessed the crash or has relevant information is asked to call the road policing unit on 101.
