FARM workers at an agricultural show were shocked to find an illegal immigrant hiding inside farm machinery.

The man, believed to be from Afghanistan, was hiding in a tank at the Cereal 2007 event at Vine Farm in Wendy.

But police told workers to let the man go because they were too busy to attend.

A police spokesman said: "When this incident was reported to police on June 12, officers were unable to attend.

"Officers were later sent and one person was arrested under the Immigration Act.
