Youngsters got close look at nature when a Crow country nature reserve hosted a discovery day.

The RSPB’s Fowlmere Nature Reserve hosted the day on Sunday, with over 400 people attending to take a look at the reserve’s inhabitants.

Among the animals on show were two-day old Lapwing chicks, which were being protected by their parents on the reserve’s central bank.

Five juvenile Barn Owls could also be seen in their nest box. As reported in The Crow last week, they were born at the reserve earlier this month and are expected to fly the nest shortly.

Visitors were also able to take a look at the reserve’s ecology and management work.
