TRAIN services from Royston are once again being disrupted today after a tree fell on the line.
Rail operator First Capital Connect (FCC) were informed of the problem at 6.20am this morning, and since then commuters have faced short notice cancellations, alterations, and delays of up to 30 minutes, while engineers attempt to fix overhead cables damaged by the tree, which came down between Royston and Letchworth.
On top of this, the 7.34am Royston to King's Cross service was cancelled because there were no drivers available. FCC services have been hit by staffing problems in recent weeks, as drivers refuse to work overtime and rest days due to a dispute over pay and conditions.
