Pupils have taken part in a three-week sponsored read to raise money for sick children.

Children at Millfield School in Buntingford raised £550 through the event for The Roald Dahl Foundation.

Teacher Clare Lord said: "We wanted to promote reading and help children at the same time.

"The event has also enabled us to buy some books for the school at half-price."

During the event pupils also made their own books.

Miss Lord said: "Everyone really enjoyed the event. We will definitely hold it again."
