POLAR explorer Michael McGrath has raised more than £5,000 through his online charity auction in aid of Muscular Dystrophy.
Mr McGrath, 41, of Buntingford, who is co-founder of the Muscular Help Foundation (MHF), launched the auction last month to provide sufferers of the muscle-wasting disease with memorable experiences.
He said: "I am absolutely delighted to announce that as a result of this online initiative we are now in a position to start planning and delivering some special experiences through our Muscle Dreams programme.
"Although a small charity, our initiative is attracting a lot of interest, so although it's a good start, this is just the beginning.
