It will be all eyes to the sky when a popular kite festival comes to Royston on Sunday.
Thousands are expected to turn out for the Royston Kite Festival – it is such a hit that during the past 10 years the event has raised more than £45,000 for both local and national charities.
Organiser Karin Weston said: “The kite festival has always been a spectacular event as well as raising so much for charity.
“Even after 10 years we are still as excited as ever over organising an event which has become part of the tapestry of Royston.”
The event is arranged by the Rotary Club of Royston, and proceeds will go to the Willow Foundation, which is the president’s chosen charity of the year.
Sunday’s festival on Therfield Heath, which will also involve a kite making competition and fun fair, will run from 10.30am to 4.30pm.
Adults– 14 and over – pay £2 to enter and children go free. There is also free car parking.
