A much-anticipated new splash park in Royston will most likely open in mid-June ‘if all goes well’, according to North Herts District Council.
The opening date for the splash park at Priory Memorial Gardens was initially set for the end of May, but it has been pushed back while final inspections are carried out.
Councillor Jane Gray, responsible for leisure at North Herts District Council, said: “The installation of mains power and electricity is now complete and we are waiting for a final inspection to be carried out by the Royal Society of the Prevention of Accidents.
“If all goes well, we are aiming to open in the middle of June.”
The splash park will include features such as interactive water jets, a maypole and a play stream for younger children.
