A resident at a Barley care home has scored highly in a Great British Bake Off-style competition.
Enid Denchfield, who lives at Margaret House Residential and Dementia Care Home in Church End, won second place in the Herts Care Provider’s Association ‘bake off’ contest.
Her immaculate cake featured the home’s distinctive purple and yellow flower logo and was eaten and enjoyed by judges from HCPA and members of the Herts Chamber of Commerce at a coffee morning at the home.
Enid said: “I am so glad I took part, I had forgotten how much fun baking and decorating could be and being told I had come runner up was just the icing on the cake!”
