Members of the public trying to call 999 in the South Cambs area are warned the phone-line is down.
Police were notified of the issue by BT at about 11am this morning, and there is also a partial issue with 101 which is currently operating with a reduced service.
If you need urgent assistance from any of the emergency services, call 101 and keep trying if you fail to get through.
A spokeswoman for the police said: “Members of the public should consider whether the matter is definitely an emergency while the issues are resolved. BT are working on resolving the issue which is expected to last for another couple of hours. We shall put out more information as and when there is more to give.”
