A TWIRLING troupe from Royston have won a national competition for a record fourth year in a row.
The Royston-based Electralites Majorettes have been crowned champions of the 2006 National Twirling Finals, after wining a two-day competition in Caister, near Great Yarmouth.
The finals featured majorette groups from all over Britain.
The girls competed in a number of different disciplines which included pom pom routines, baton twirling and freestyling.
The 37 strong group of girls aged between six and 19, also took part in a military display which involved marching to music while performing intricate patterns and columns.
Troupe manager Mark Barfield, who's wife Zoe is the trainer, said: "Four years on the trot is a fantastic record. They won all 12 categories - it's really quite unbelievable.
"I'm proud of all the girls, as well as Zoe, who has worked extremely hard to get the girls where they are. It was a nice way to finish the season and we are all looking forward to next year.
