As safety issues rage on at the troublesome Foxton Level Crossing, it’s been revealed that eight vehicles have been spotted jumping red lights by Network Rail’s enforcement van in just one month.

Back in June, the Crow also reported that more than 30 offences were committed at the crossing between 2014 and 2015, with incidents ranging from trespassing to failing to stop at signals.

Within the same period, the police dealt with 22 people for offences at the crossing.

A total of 11 people were issued with court summons, and a further 11 of these people took up driver awareness courses.

As the pedestrian gates remain broken, local people are urging the company to take action.

Sallie Cook, a pensioner who lives on the same road as the crossing, said: “If this was outside Buckingham Palace, this wouldn’t be going on. They wouldn’t leave the Queen moaning without action.”
