Education bosses in Hertfordshire are expected to allocate primary school places for next year as planned, councillors have heard.

As part of a daily briefing to the media today (Wednesday) Cambridgeshire County Council has warned parents to be aware of a free school meals scam doing the rounds.

Libraries across Herts have temporarily closed to enable a proper assessment of the best strategy during the coronavirus crisis.

Public libraries across Cambridgeshire will remain open for now but in neighbouring Norfolk all will close on Saturday.

Hertfordshire County Council is working on plans to offer “some learning opportunities” to pupils once schools close on Friday due to coronavirus concerns.
