The founder of the Cambs Youth Panel (CYP), which has provided computers and laptops to youngsters during the Covid-19 pandemic, says his team will fight on despite requests for government support being rejected.

A number of students and staff are self isolating after COVID-19 cases were confirmed at King James Academy Royston.

Attendance at Hertfordshire’s secondary schools has dropped since the start of the autumn term, as cases of COVID-19 have increased among staff and pupils.

Royston eateries and other community groups are offering free food to help families affected by last week’s parliament vote not to extend free school meals during the October and Christmas holidays.

Make Lunch Royston has been providing food and activities for children, who receive free school meals, during holidays since 2015 – and in the coronavirus pandemic, the service has continued to prove vital to families in need.
