FIRE-FIGHTERS were called after a car struck railings yesterday (Wednesday).
The car, a blue Skoda Fabia, crashed just after 12.30pm, blocking the High Street, Royston, outside the Stationery Cupboard.
The driver was not trapped, and although an ambulance was called, she did not require hospital treatment.
Police said they received several reports of smoke coming from the car.
A spokesman for Herts Fire and Rescue Service said a crew from Royston spent about 25 minutes at the scene to make the vehicle safe.
