Darth Vader and Prince Charles may seem an unlikely pair, but both were depicted in the same village at the weekend for a church’s annual scarecrow competition.
Foxton Scarecrow Festival saw many different characters displayed across the village on Saturday in an event organised by St Laurence’s Church.
Eagle-eyed visitors were able to spot a lawn mowing Darth Vader from Star Wars, a Rugby World Cup-themed England fan, as well as search for Where’s Wally.
There were fundraising activities along the way, as well as refreshments such as bacon butties, soup, and tea and cakes for the public to enjoy.
The event culminated in the High Street-based church at 4pm with a prize giving ceremony which included judging the children’s mini scarecrows, as well as entertainment from the Foxton Singers and a band performing Disney songs.
