Young dance-school pupils proved they’ve got star quality when they were presented with awards at a ceremony last weekend at Royston Leisure Centre.

Annual achievement shields were presented to pupils from Hot Steps Dance Academy which holds classes in Steeple Morden, as well as other villages around Cambridge.

Nyah Cretton, 10, from Litlington won the Latin American shield, and other winners were Megan Barker, Louise Hamilton, Connie Watkins, Cara Still and Emily Bourne.

The event also raised £770 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Principal of the school, Harriet Walmesley has been dancing herself since the age of five, and started teaching dance at 17.

She said: “The teachers would like to thank the staff at Royston Leisure Centre for all their help with making this presentation a great success.”
