Royston’s district museum is to bid a fond farewell to manager Jenny Oxley, who is stepping down after three years.

Since 2015, the museum manager and curator has made the site more “family-friendly”, with the introduction of more crafty events welcoming so many new young faces.

Museum assistant Amy Judd said: “Behind the scenes, Jenny has led a team of volunteers in cataloguing the museum’s vast collection of local history objects.

“Through her dedication and perseverance at tackling the many items in storage, the museum is now well on the way to having a fully catalogued collection.

“This means we are better placed for putting together new exhibitions and events focussing on what’s in the museum. We can use the collections to educate and help visitors discover more about Royston and the surrounding villages.

“Jenny’s legacy will see us continue with our crafty events and look at even more ways we can bring in more visitors. Come along during the summer holidays to join in the crafty fun and see all the wonderful work we have done and will continue to do in the museum.”

To wish Jenny good luck in her new adventure, the museum is hosting a tea party on Wednesday next week from 2pm to 4pm. For more information or if you would like to come along, call Amy on 01763 242587 or email assistant@roystonmuseum.org.uk.
