CROW country children have been taking part in an established Christmas tradition this week – the school nativity.

Our photographer got down to primary schools in Bassingbourn and Steeple Morden to witness the plays, which tell the story of the birth of Jesus Christ.

Richard Lloyd, head teacher at Steeple Morden Primary, said: “The children have been absolutely fantastic, and read, spoke and danced with real confidence.

“We opened to the community and the pre-school today, and they gave a great performance.”

Ann Jackson, head teacher at Bassingbourn Primary, said: “It went really well for us, and we all thoroughly enjoyed it.

“The school pulled out all the stops, and the children brought tears to the eyes of the parents!”
