Councillors are working hard to spruce up Royston High Street.

Two cigarette bins have been installed in the High Street by North Herts District Council after a request was put in by Royston Town Council to reduce littering.

A deep clean of the pavements is scheduled for spring and a repainting of all street furniture will be carried out in early summer.

The council is also working with contractors to improve the level of daily street cleaning in the town centre.

A Royston Town Council spokesman said: “We want to reduce the amount of waste on our pavements with projects aimed at brightening up the high street. Our sincere thanks go to our district and county councillors who have been helping us with these issues for many months now.”
