Sillence Court residents in Princes Mews, Royston, claim delivery vehicles are causing a disturbance early in the morning delivering to Somerfield.
As a result environmental health has been monitoring noise levels at the supermarket.
Training manager at Somerfield, David Boyd said: "There has been a problem with noise levels, but North Herts District Council has been monitoring the store over the past three weeks.
A district council spokesman said: "The environmental protection team has investigated one complaint of noise made with reference to Somerfield at Royston on January 15 by a resident who lived in nearby flats. The team contacted Somerfield's head office and reminded them of the 2005 agreement that no deliveries would be made before 6.30am. No more complaints have been received.
"If further complaints are received and evidence obtained that a statutory nuisance is taking place by allowing deliveries before 6:30am, an Abatement Notice would be served on the company.
If an Abatement Notice is contravened, a fine of up to £20,000 can be imposed.
