The Conservators of Therfield Heath and Greens are holding an open meeting on Thursday next week for the community to share their views on the local landmark.

The meeting comes off the back of the public inquiry into the deregistration of Royston heathland in February.

Conservators’ clerk David Smith told the Crow: “The Conservators recognise the high level of public interest and wish to share their current thoughts on heath management, and hear from members of the public.

“The public are naturally very interested in the outcome of the public inquiry. In addition, Gladman is consulting on a proposed housing development south of Echo Hill.

“This meeting will also be an opportunity for the principal users of the heath to report on their activities.”

Royston Town Councillor Rod Kennedy will be outlining his idea for a Friends of Therfield Heath and Greens group.

The meeting at Royston Town Hall starts at 7.30pm on Thursday, April 12.
