The group campaigning to stop a 120-home development from being built in Royston have expressed concerns over increased traffic in the area.

Royston Says No to Gladman said an estimated 600 extra vehicles a day will use Briary Lane if the proposed development site goes ahead – based on figures in Gladman’s planning application.

Campaign group chair Alf Vaisey said: “All residents, road users and pedestrians here and in the wider town should be concerned.

“Existing on-street parking on Briary Lane creates a one-way flow of traffic and will make access for emergency vehicles even harder. We are urging residents to make their voices heard by objecting to this development.”

Gladman has previously said it wouldn’t be commenting on the application, but supporting documents state that there would not be a detrimental impact to the road network.
